Description
Călușari Pinot Noir
🏷️ Summary
A smooth, fruit-driven Pinot Noir from Romania’s cool-climate vineyards. Călușari Pinot Noir offers a vibrant mix of red berry fruit, soft tannins, and a silky texture — incredible value and a perfect introduction to modern Romanian winemaking.
🍇 Tasting Notes
Light ruby in colour with garnet reflections. The nose bursts with aromas of strawberries, cherries, and raspberry compote, lifted by hints of spice, vanilla, and violets. The palate is supple and elegant, balancing ripe red fruit with gentle tannins and a touch of savoury earthiness. A smooth, medium-bodied wine with a bright, juicy finish and classic Pinot charm.
🍽️ Food Pairing
Perfect with roast chicken, duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, and charcuterie boards. Its bright acidity and silky texture make it ideal for lighter meats and vegetarian dishes. Serve slightly chilled, around 14–16 °C.
🏡 Winemaking & Story
Produced by Cramele Recaș, one of Romania’s most acclaimed wineries, located in the rolling hills of the Banat region. The Călușari range is named after the traditional Romanian folk dancers who celebrate vitality and freedom — a fitting symbol for these expressive, fruit-forward wines.
The grapes are harvested in the cool of the night to preserve freshness, then gently fermented in stainless steel with partial maturation in oak to enhance structure and complexity. The result is a wine that captures the elegance of Pinot Noir with a distinctly Romanian twist — vibrant, aromatic, and beautifully balanced.
